On August 2nd, "High-level Forum of UNGC in China" was held in the UN Pavilion of the Shanghai Expo. During the forum, Sinochem received the "Best Corporate Citizenship Report of 2010 Global Compact".

Mr. Chen Jiagui, member of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and deputy chairman of the Education Committee of China Social Science Academy, Mr. Awni Behnam, UN Assistant Secretary, as well as other officials and leaders from China Development Bank, ILO, SASAC, and UNGC attended the forum and gave speeches.

With the ever-increasing economic globalization, companies are expected to shoulder more social responsibilities. In 2000, the former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan put forward the "Global Compact Program" to call on the companies across the globe to abide by the ten principles regarding human rights, labor standard, environment protection, and anti-corruption. At present, there are 6000-plus companies in over 130 countries in the Compact, including around 200 from China. Sinochem joined the Compact in 2009.

In recent year, Sinochem has conducted a large amount of work in fulfilling its corporate citizenship, and set up good relation with related stake-holders. It has published its corporate citizenship report for 4 years since 2007. "Sinochem's Practice of Corporate Citizenship in Closing USAC" submitted by Sinochem entered the list of "2009 Good Practice of Corporate Citizenship of Key State-owned Enterprises" released by SASAC.
